The short version
- We only collect what you type into our form or send us by email, plus the basic server logs every website host keeps and anonymous visit statistics.
- We use it to talk with you about Home Intelligence, and for nothing else.
- We never sell it, never use it for advertising, and don't track you around the web.
- Our only cookies count visits for Google Analytics, and Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track turns them off. Email us anytime to see or delete what we have.
Who we are
Home Intelligence ("HI," "we," "us") is a smart home and AI setup business serving Cleveland's east and west suburbs. It is operated by Ryan Curry, doing business as Home Intelligence, in Northeast Ohio.
This policy covers this website (hihomeintelligence.com) and our interest form. It does not cover home services we provide. Those are governed by a separate written agreement, including its own data and security terms, that you sign before any work begins.
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill out our interest form, we collect what you choose to enter:
- Your name, email address and ZIP code
- Your household size and what smart home setup you have today
- Which features interest you
- Whether you're open to a short research call
- How you heard about us, such as a flyer or yard sign. If you scanned one of our printed QR codes, this is filled in for you, and you can change or clear it.
- Anything you write in the "Anything else?" box
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.
Please don't put sensitive information (passwords, door codes, financial or health details) in the form or in email. We never need it at this stage.
Information collected automatically
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page, and the date and time. This is used for security, preventing abuse and keeping the site running.
We also use Google Analytics to count visits. It records which pages are viewed, how you arrived (for example, a search, another site or one of our QR codes), how far you scroll, which outside links you click, your general location (city level), and your browser and device type. It doesn't receive anything you type into our form, and we don't link it to your name or email address. See Cookies & tracking to turn it off.
What we don't collect
We don't use advertising pixels, fingerprinting or session recording, and we don't use analytics for advertising or to follow you across other websites. We don't ask for payment details, and we don't buy information about you from anyone else.
How we use it
- To reply to you and keep you updated about Home Intelligence, including availability and pricing
- To schedule a research call, only if you ticked the box saying you're open to one
- To understand, in aggregate, what families in our area want, so we can decide what to build and offer first
- To see, in aggregate, how people find and use this website, such as which pages they read and which flyers bring them here
- To keep this website secure and to block spam and abuse
- To comply with the law when we have to
We won't add you to anyone else's mailing list. Every email we send includes a simple way to stop hearing from us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't share it for advertising, including as "selling" or "sharing" are defined in US state privacy laws. We use a small number of service providers to run this website, and each receives only what it needs:

These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security terms: Netlify's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy. Google explains its analytics in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights or safety of our customers, the public or ourselves. If Home Intelligence is reorganized (for example, into a limited liability company), merged or sold, your information would move with the business, and this policy would keep applying to it.
Cookies & tracking
The only cookies this website sets are Google Analytics' first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID). They use a random number to tell a new visit from a returning one, and they expire after up to two years. We don't use advertising or social media cookies.
We honor Global Privacy Control and "Do Not Track." If your browser sends either signal, Google Analytics doesn't load at all: no cookies are set, and nothing is sent to Google. You can also block cookies in your browser settings or use Google's opt-out browser add-on. Either way, the site works the same.
How long we keep it
- Interest-form information and emails: for as long as it's useful for talking with you about Home Intelligence, and no longer than 24 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a client. Client information is then covered by your service agreement.
- Form submissions stored at Netlify: we periodically move them into our own records and delete them from Netlify.
- Server logs: kept by Netlify for a limited period under its own retention practices, and used only for security and troubleshooting.
- Google Analytics data: visit-level details are deleted after no more than 14 months. We keep only aggregate counts after that.
You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time.
Your choices
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what information we have about you and give you a copy
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Delete your information
- Stop emailing you. Use the link in any email, or just reply and say so
Email ryan@hihomeintelligence.com from the address you gave us, and we'll respond within 30 days. We may ask a question or two to confirm it's really you. We'll never treat you differently for asking.
Security
This website is served only over encrypted HTTPS. Access to your information is limited to the person running Home Intelligence, and our accounts are protected with strong, unique passwords and multi-factor authentication. No method of sending or storing information is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share. If we ever learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
Children
This website is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Visitors outside the US
Home Intelligence serves homes in Northeast Ohio. This website is operated from the United States, and the information you send us is stored and processed in the United States.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll email you before it takes effect.
